The habitat is wet meadow near a creek. Plants in the area include bog violets, a native form of phragmites, wild rose, showy milkweed (closer to the creek), gentian, rubber rabbitbrush, western white clematis, wildrye, cottonwood trees (closer to the creek), and sumac.

Observation Notes:
All fireflies were observed on the uppermost portions of the phragmites leaves. They were either sitting still or crawling upward on the plant. One specimen (the one photographed) was measured and was approximately 1 cm long (not including antennae).
