Observers stayed on elevated path that was bordered by the marsh. A lot of saltmarsh mallow, southern live oak trees on elevated area of path, swamp dock, leafy bladderwort, scarlet rose mallow has been observed here, alligator flag

ID based on small size (~11 mm), marsh habitat, color of hind coxae, and shape of pronotal vitta. Photuris douglasae is known to emit a flash pattern consisting of single flashes at ~4 second intervals. I am leaving the observation status as “Unverified” simply because of the difficulty and uncertainty of Photuris ID.
