Based on the dark coloration of the scutellum (the little triangle where the wings meet, “between the shoulder blades”) and the rectangular shape of the dark marking on the head shield, this is a species other than Photinus pyralis– likely something in the Photinus consanguineus group, which includes species with single and double flash patterns.
