Thanks for submitting this firefly observation! Based on your description of the flash behavior, the color of the flash (green), and the time of display (later in the evening), my guess is that this was a firefly in the genus Photuris. There are 20 named species of Photuris in Florida, and many require careful observations of the flash behavior for identification.
Sounds like you maintain lovely habitat for fireflies!
