  1. Thank you for submitting this firefly observation! It is hard to know for sure without a close-up photo of the firefly, but based on the early-evening display time, the yellow color of the flash, and the low flash over mowed lawn, I think this firefly was most likely the big dipper firefly (Photinus pyralis).
