Male Height Zone:

Moderate (3-8 ft)

Flash Location:

Flashes were over the tall grass of the meadow, about 4 to 7 feet above the ground.

Male Flash Behavior:

I'm not sure whether to say this was a single flash or multiple flashes. I would describe it as multiple very rapid flashes, or possibly a flicker flash, lasting about 1 second, with 4 seconds of darkness, then another flash/series of rapid flashes. Flashing was similar to Pyractomena dispersa I saw in the spring except this flashing was brighter/stronger. They flew in a fairly straight line so they were very easy to catch.

Female Flash Behavior:

None seen.
