Upper tributary Kings/Dolphin Creeks. Red cedar/Cabbage palm hydric hammock edge adjacent to mosaic of pine pflatwoods. Black needle rush with mosaic of herbaceous variety including Sporobolus virginicus and Borrichia frutescens.

Observation Notes:

Observed easily more than 50 individuals, more like 200+; Flashes mostly separated from one another. Possibly two species were observed. Flashes all along both sides of the Park service road (7-mile loop trail). Adults very abundant. Larva not abundant but present.

Flash Location:

Survey ended at 22:00. Larva were searched and photographed at 22:00 but flashes of abundant #'s of Micronaspis continued after 22:00. Another species appeared to also be present with different flash type. Flashes in the 1.3 hectre area were abundant along both sides of 7-mile loop trail to north and south all directions all the way to Dolphin Creek culvert, all along the boundary of the hydric hammock/salt marsh habitat

Male Flash Behavior:

Slow single flash streak. A male was the first individual we observed/captured for ID

Female Flash Behavior:

Rapid single flashes on ground, captured and photographed
