Observation

Observation Type:

Non-Flashing

Number Observed:

11-50

Genus:

Pleotomus

Species:

unknown

Observation Notes:

The male flew to our light when we were observing another species. I covered my hand over him and he remained calm when transferred to a Petri dish. We noticed the glow of the larvae form and then found them all over the leaf litter just off the trail. The larvae were 30 mm and their glow could be seen at a distance. We are not certain that these are pallens but rather davisii. However, davisii was not an option to select. The information on the pallens is that the habitat is more arid. The refuge habitat is coastal bottomlands.
