Observation Notes:

Body length was between 7 and 8 mm. Habitat photo with Photinus pyralis shows the shrubby vegetation at the edge of Lake Nevin where these Photinus were flashing.

Flashes were just above and among the shrubs along the shoreline of Lake Nevin.

Male Flash Behavior:

In the moment, I described the flash as "a little flash, not rising." Voice recordings of a series of 6 brief flashes had variable flash periods: 3.4, 1.8, 1.8, 1.6, and 3.5 seconds.

Female Flash Behavior:

Not observed.
