  1. Thank you for submitting this firefly observation! This firefly is in the genus Pyropyga, which are small-bodied diurnal fireflies. The most likely species is Pyropyga nigricans, but Pyropyga modesta is also found in Arizona and specimens might be needed for a definitive ID.
