Thanks for submitting this firefly survey and observation! Based on the yellow flash color, location, and early evening display time, I think this is likely a Photinus firefly. Photinus pyralis would be the common, expected species in a suburban context like this, though Photinus marginellus is also found in the Chicago area. Both of these species actually have a single-pulse flash pattern, though. If you’re able to get photos, we may be able to get to a species ID!
