Genus:

Pyropyga

Species:

nigricans

Observation Notes:

While I only saw one individual today, I do this walk almost every day and for the last week or so I have been seeing anywhere from 1-4 individuals along the 2km stretch that I frequent. Usually they are seen flying in proximity to the canal, though I have also seen one in the neighborhood adjacent to the green space. On this particular day I only saw one individual in the grass adjacent to the canal. It was cooler and muggier than usual.
