Between 15-18 individuals observed. Approximately 15 mm, measurement not precise and estimated from photo after survey.

Moderate (3-8 ft)

Flash Location:

Males flying over tall marsh grasses and in open areas, also found along the edge of but not in the mangrove shrubs.

Male Flash Behavior:

1 second bright flickering, glow flash, followed by 2.5 - 3.5 second long dark interval. Many individuals seemed to drop in flight during flash. Explosive and bright at beginning and then glow appeared to flicker or sputter out while erratically flying during flash.

Female Flash Behavior:

3 individuals, potentially females, sitting low in grass displaying a 1-3 second long, faint glow. Dark interval irregular. No males appeared to be flying/flashing in the immediate area.
