This site has significant light pollution. The pumping station building is all lit up, and there is a huge spotlight type light that is on dusk to dawn which causes glare and light trespass.

2 males photographed - both all black without the yellow edging on the elytra. Flash counts: range from a flash every 1.2 to 1.33 seconds (3 counts on 3 different specimens) Twelve total fireflies observed: 8 at spring, 2 flying over Creek, 2 downstream at camp.

Flash Location:

Males started flashing while sitting in shrubby willows streamside at 1-5 ft. Over time they also flew at higher heights over the water itself.

Almost continuous single flashes while flying.

We did not identify any females.
