Power line at top of the hill, field almost entirely made up of 8-10 different species of plant, most tall grasses and flowering plants, most not in bloom, five deer were spotted at 7:58 hanging around the unmaintained grassland, species of spider and beetle spotted, katydids spotted, many different moths and leafhoppers, two dragonflies spotted, one praying mantis, eastern wood-pewees spotted hunting at 8:28, bats spotted at 8:41, Barred owls heard at 9:10

first one observed found flashing on the leaf of a fireweed, later flew into observer’s hair, hangs around dense vegetation, flys low 2-5ft, sometimes perches on grass in the open field

at 8:30 most flashed while perched on bushes trees or other plants, not flying over open field too often, sometimes perched on grass, after 9:00 they begun flashing while flying low over dense overgrowth

a quick series of 3-4 flashes with 3-5 seconds between each flash, not as bright at Big Dippers, slow flyers and was not seen ascending above 6ft
