We live in the country. Shut off all the house lights to watch them, but initially had the house lights and porch lights on at initial sighting

We sat for about 40 minutes watching, they flashed continously throughout, spreading out across the whole yard (approx 3-4 acres?)

  1. A belated thank you for submitting this firefly observation! Based on the late-evening display time, habitat, and location, I think these fireflies were likely in the genus Photuris. Close-up photos and flash pattern details would help to confirm.
