Thank you for submitting this firefly observation! Based on the fact that it was displaying above the treetops, my guess is that this was a firefly in the genus Photuris, but we’d really need a photo to confirm.
Thanks for that observation. Unfortunately, my only foto equipment is my phone that’s poor at both macro- and long-distance shots.
