We were in many areas. We were in an area near a river that had an old mill. We also went down a wooded path and were in wetlands. Some of the paths were in the uplands. We were in a field and also along a street within the park.

Location dependent. The artificial light did not seem to be a factor on the paths in wooded areas. Only a couple of cars intruded through with headlights the entire time we were there. There are a couple of lights near the bridge.

Observation Notes:
At the beginning of the survey, we saw many common eastern fireflies in grassy areas and along paths, but we did not collect any. The times below are not just for this firefly species- it is for the entire survey period. At the end of the survey, we saw absolutely no fireflies. The moon was very bright.
