Very nicely documented!
One small piece of feedback– I think it was likely the flash pattern period/flash period that was 0.5 seconds rather than the flash duration, as 0.5 seconds is actually a rather long flash, while Photuris congener flashes tend to be quite quick (maybe 0.1 seconds)
