Observation
Observation Type:
With Flash Data
Number Observed:
2-10
genus:
bicellonycha
Species:
wickershamorum
Observation Notes:
Observed 3 fireflies: two on the ground and one flying that went high up into the tree canopy and appeared to perch in the vegetation. No individuals were captured or photographed, but the flash pattern and color indicated B. wickershamorum, and this site is very close to the known type locality for the species. We visited this site earlier in the evening (approx 5:15pm) to scout it out and then returned after dark, after another survey (Green Kingfisher Pond), to see if fireflies were present.
